Ineed to re-paint the screens in the grill, yes that chicken wire is OEM.
Got that purple tow strap in the mail today, not installed yet, just playing with mounting locations. This is the one I’ve had in mind since before I bought it.
Muddy car is muddy.

You should do it either centered or passenger side. If you have to use it on the side of the road, you want to be away from passing traffic.

Rice unless you either weather it (gives it character to match your car) or clean up the rest of the car to match the freshness of the tow strap.

It’ll get dirty

Hum, never thought of that. Although the places where I’d most likely need it there won’t be much traffic.
Looking around it seems Japanese cars tend to have OEM tow hooks on the driver’s side and German cars tend to have it in the passenger side. My car actually has one on each side, but I’m using them as mounts for my skid plate so they won’t be useable. Plus they require going under the car which is a PITA.

What is it hooked to? Something strong enough to yank on?

It’ll be bolted to the actual bumper/crashbar, reinforced on the bottom side

Also to the side is stronger!

Better than those sheet metal ones Honda kids put on their rear bumper.

Do you often crash, does your car often break down and your to broke/too cheap to use a towing service? If either awnser was yes than its hot.

Yes... I wasn’t thinking about gritting one of those aluminum ones for the rear. There basically just an extension for the factory one. Looks cooler on Hondas those because their hooks are in the middle.

Not really, but i have gotten it stuck in mud. And I love driving fast on loose surfaces, snow, dirt, mud, sand whatever. Which can lead to being stuck in a ditch.

makes sense as japanese cars have their steering wheel on the wrong side.

It looks good and it’s going on a car that may need it so that makes it cool and not rice. I’d install it on the right hand side(same position just on the right not left).

I don’t know why exactly but I just like it better on the left of the car.

It makes it easier to steal now.

I guess... it’ll still be in gear with th parking brake set.

Doesn’t matter for a tow truck to steal it. All 4 wheels could be completely locked, and they will just winch it on the truck.

If some one wants to go through that much effort to steal my 26 year old POS they can have it.

You never know. Maybe a fender, door, suspension bit, or piece of glass is worth a bunch of money for a repair shop.
